Flies come in many forms. Fruit flies and houseflies are the two most common types.Fruit flies, including wings, are about 1/8 inch (3-4 mm) long.  The female housefly is larger than the male, and it is about 1/4 inch (4.75 mm) in length.

Whenever a house fly stops to rest, it excretes and regurgitates. Especially those associated with filth tend to transmit disease organisms. It is also possible for small fruit flies to transmit diseases to humans.
