A cockroach’s color can vary from light brown to dark brown and its size can vary from 1/4 inch to 2 inches long depending on the species.

The cockroaches carry bacterial and viral pathogens in their feces and on their bodies. Consuming contaminated food or using utensils that have been exposed to the cockroach can cause asthma, salmonella poisoning, and dysentery. Children are especially vulnerable to these conditions.
