An average ant measures between 1/16 and 1/4 of an inch in length. They are very social insects that live in colonies underground. Ants build nests inside walls and insulation, as well as under floors.
The majority of ants are not destructive. Although ants do not carry diseases, they can infest food and weaken wood in structures.
