Mice can enter a building or home through a crack as small as 1/4 of an inch – the width of a pencil. It is more common to find them nesting and living outside, but they have been known to stay inside buildings and properties if they have enough food and water to survive, as well as ideal nesting conditions.
Because mice like to nibble on numerous items, the damage they cause is unbelievable compared to their size. During feeding, a single mouse can contaminate many packages of food by gnawing on them constantly and depositing urine and feces on them. They can also chew on electrical wires and cause major structural damage. Salmonella and dysentery are common illnesses carried by mice and other rodents.
